Our southern timberlands consist of over 1.1 million acres located across 4 states in the south - Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. Timberlands are managed on a sustainable basis to maximize growth while ensuring we maintain healthy working forests. PotlatchDeltic benefits from a strong customer base near our southern timberlands and proximity to major housing markets. Timberlands in these baskets are also expected to benefit from strong end-use demand growth in the region.

We plant 17-18 million seedlings in the south a year.

We own approximately 932,000 acres of timberland in Arkansas. We mainly grow southern yellow pine, with a mix of red oak, white oak, and other hardwoods that grow in bottomlands. Timber harvested from our Arkansas lands is sold to PotlatchDeltic mills in Warren, Waldo, and Ola and to other area lumber and paper manufacturers.

A wide range of lumber, panel and pulp and paper customers are located near to our timberlands and our footprint in Arkansas enables us to optimize our log marketing over this customer base. We typically use approximately 60% of the sawlogs harvested on our Arkansas timberlands internally.
